Writing A Short-form Video Script
Writing for short-form video and writing for text posts are two very different things.
Words that work perfectly well on a page can sound awkward when you try to say them out loud. A good video script needs to be focused, easy to follow and written in language you’d actually use when speaking.
In this practical workshop, I explain different ways to develop a video script, including starting with a blank page, working from a template and using the transcript of a conversation.
You’ll also see a live demonstration of how I turn a conversation into a short video script, making decisions about what to include, what to remove and how to make the message flow.
What you’ll learn
- Different ways to develop a video script
- How to turn ideas and conversations into spoken language
- How to tighten a script without losing your personality
- The difference between reading a script and rehearsing it
- How to use a teleprompter or record a script in sections
This is a recording of a live workshop, including a collaborative scripting demonstration and questions from participants.
